Dr. Julie Cappel is a graduate of Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. She joined Warren Woods Veterinary Hospital in 1991 and became the practice owner in 1997. She enjoys the challenges of small business ownership and strives to inspire her veterinary team to serve their clients and patients with compassion and kindness. Dr. Cappel served on the executive board of the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and was their president in 2015. Dr. Cappel also has served on the executive board of the Southeastern Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and was their president in 2006. She has a special interest in Avian Medicine and has been a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians since 1991. She is very proud of her two adult children who are successfully earning their college degrees and excelling in their musical pursuits. She shares her home with her husband (Scott), one dog (Trent), two cats (Peter and Colby) and a Quaker Parrot (Kimi) who has become a hospital mascot since her children left home.
